A young Morris Gaebe poses behind his students attending Johnson & Wales Business School in the late 1940s where classes were taught in the Gardner Building on Fountain Street. Navy buddies Edward Triangolo and Morris Gaebe – still in uniform – joke with one another in front of their modest homes in North Kingstown.
Plantations Hall, the former Plantations Club on Weybosset Street in Providence, was the first building purchased by Gaebe and Triangolo several years after they bought the school from Misses Johnson and Wales in 1947. Edward Triangolo assists one of his students, many of them WWII vets on the G.I. Bill.
J&W students, some of them pledging to a fraternity, enjoy lunch at a nearby diner in downtown Providence. Morris Gaebe and his students pose for the yearbook. Proper and professional dress were expected at all times.
Mo Gaebe and Ed “Tri” Triangolo at their desks discuss curriculum. One of J&W’s signature buses transports students to class.
